At the present, the I nstitute employs about 370 people incl uding 140 researchers (29 Doctors of Science, 92 Candidates of Science (PhD)). Every year in graduate NIOCH trained 23 graduate students. The Institute performs joint research studies in cooperation with other Institutes of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of sciences (the Institute of Cytology and Genetics, the Institute of Systematics and Ecology of Animals, the Institute of Catalysis, the Institute of Inorganic Chemistry, the Institute of Chemical Kinetics and Combustion, the Institute of Automatic and Electrometry, the Institute of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics, International Tomography Center, etc.) Novosibirsk State University, and the universities and scientific laboratories in Germany, Italy, Holland, Belgium, France, the UK, the USA, Mongolia, India and other countries within the framework of bilateral and multilateral research projects and grant programs. The institute subdivisions are involved in active cooperation on commercial basis with the leading firms and companies of Western Europe, the USA, Canada, Japan, china, and South Korea.

The Institute's research projects have received many awards including the Lenin Prize, the State Prizes of the USSR, the RSFSR, and the Russian Federation, the Prize of the Council of ministers of the USSR, State Prizes of the Russian federation for young scientists, and other awards and medals of Russian and International fairs and exhibitions.

The Institute is the base for the Department of Organic Chemistry of the Faculty of Natural Sciences, Novosibirsk State University. In addition, the Institute staff gives lectures and conducts seminars on the medical and physical faculties Novosibirsk State University (NSU), Novosibirsk State Pedagogical University, Novosibirsk State Technical University, The Specialized Training Research Center at Novosibirsk State University, The Novosibirsk Chemical Technology College. About 30-35 staff members of the Institute give lectures and hold seminars at Novosibirsk State University and other higher educational institutes of Novosibirsk.

The Institute offers post-graduate courses on organic, physical, bioorganic chemistry and pharmacology & clinical pharmacology. The Institute supports the activities of the Dissertational Council awarding the degrees of Doctor and Candidate of Science (PhD) in Organic Chemistry.
